CUNY Recovery Corps Summer Internship-Friday, May 7th deadline

The CUNY Recovery Corps (www.cuny.edu/hirerecoverycorps) is a partnership between CUNY and New York City, which will allow 5,000 CUNY students to join efforts to meet the challenges faced by our community’s small businesses, public health organizations, community-based non-profits, schools, universities, and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

This summer, QC students will continue to write their history of service to this city as they help revitalize, reinvigorate, and rebuild NYC. Partners pay nothing to participate in the program or for intern wages.

 

Program details:

·    Internships start July 2021 and run for 6 weeks (25 hours per week).

·    Rate of pay is $15 per hour, paid by the City of New York.

·    Work opportunities may be remote, in-person, or utilize a hybrid model.

·    Internships need only be meaningful.

 

Sample Projects:

·    Enhance and expand campus welcome programming already in place.

·    Organize peer-led programs to build belonging and support student-facing communications.

·    Provide support services such as tutoring, mentoring, and other services for incoming or continuing students.

·    Provide administrative and programming support for student initiatives and programs.

·    Participate in campus and neighborhood beautification projects, such as landscaping, gardening, and park upkeep.

·    Provide technological support, such as data entry, web design, or network support.

·    Participate in community outreach and community engagement projects.

·    Organize cultural activities and community art projects.
